Client: Ecostore
Industry: Sustainable home and body products
Product: Branded tote bags, bulk and repeat production
Who is Ecostore?
Ecostore believes in creating a world of good, one person and one home at a time, and that philosophy runs straight through to their merch too. We've supplied them with sustainable, durable tote bags across multiple repeat orders, each one carrying a clean single colour Ecostore logo on the front. For a business like this, consistency isn't just "a nice to have". It's part of the brand itself.

The Brief: Bulk Orders That Actually Behave Themselves
Ecostore typically orders in decent volume, so the priorities were always going to be a bit different from a one-off event run. What mattered most:
- Sustainable, genuinely durable tote bags
- Branding and print quality that stayed consistent, order after order
- Cost-effective production at scale
- Delivery that lined up with how their operations actually run
Our Usual Approach
For bulk runs like this, our general recommendation is to plan ahead and produce offshore. It's the smarter play for unit economics once you're ordering at volume, but it does mean committing to a longer lead time. That trade-off works well for Ecostore because it keeps costs sensible while still hitting the quality bar they expect on every order.
The Challenge: When the Forecast Moves Faster Than the Supply Chain
Here's where things got interesting. On one occasion, Ecostore's forecast shifted and suddenly the order window was too tight to manufacture the full quantity offshore in time. Not ideal, especially when the whole point is uninterrupted supply to keep day-to-day operations ticking along without a hitch.
The Solution: Splitting the Run
Rather than let a shifted timeline become a genuine supply problem, we proposed splitting production:
- 1,000 units produced locally to cover the immediate gap, priced at $4.61 + GST, single solid colour logo print on the front, 250mm max print size
- The remaining bulk quantity produced offshore at $3.19 + GST, same print specs, to keep the overall order cost-efficient
It meant paying a bit more per unit on the local batch, but that's the price of keeping the lights on while the bigger, cheaper offshore run caught up.

The Result
The local batch landed fast and covered Ecostore straight away. The offshore shipment then arrived in full and right on schedule, timed almost perfectly to land just as the local stock was running low. The handover between the two batches was seamless. No gaps, no scrambling, no awkward "sorry, we're out of totes" conversations with anyone downstream.
Why Ecostore Keeps Coming Back
This is the kind of thing that actually builds a long-term partnership. Ecostore keeps working with us because when timelines shift (and they will, eventually, for every client), we're already thinking a step ahead. Proactive planning, straight communication, and practical fixes when the plan needs to flex a bit. We're the ones who step in early, sort out the moving parts, and land on an outcome that genuinely works in the client's favour, not just ours.
